Beau Monde

'Cause we all get lost sometimes, you know?
It's how we learn and how we grow.
-Cold Water, By Major Lazer Ft. Justin Bieber & MØ

If you think about it, our world is an alluring place with unique mechanisms for achieving every objective. For example, humans require oxygen to survive and the residue is carbon dioxide. Plants require carbon dioxide to survive and give out oxygen. It works out quite well for everyone, doesn't it? Miss Peppermint feels that's it's too convenient to be a coincidence. Let me know what your theories are, in the comment section.

They say that in life, we first face an examination and then learn our lesson. Every time you fail during a practice session, you're better than you were when you started, even if it's a small percentage. This is because now you're aware of what not to do.

An individual may face defeat multiple times but eventually, they will blossom. Even if it's not meant to be, they are never left empty-handed. There exists the runners-up award which is labelled experience. This is the natural mechanism.

Most of us live in frantic and hectic realms, where facing failure has become arduous, partly because of social pressure. Survival in this society with the runners-up trophy is fatiguing, if not impossible. Our society has managed to contravene the natural mechanism. Anything which goes against nature's laws is indubitably jeopardous.

This social pressure can be counter-productive but also be a driving agent for the aspirants who are preparing for Success. However, those who fail, have no other alternative but to toughen up and battle against society. Coming under and acting under social pressure is inevitable unless you decide to abandon the metropolitan life and start living with the Seven Dwarfs (smart decision Cinderella!).

A Stage Where Every Man Must Play A Part

You sell out every stadium,
And the crowd goes crazy when you're done.
-Brave, Honest, Beautiful,. By Fifth Harmony

This song is remarkably empowering. It conveys a very positive message in which Fifth Harmony tells the listener that there is nothing to be afraid of. You're brave, honest and beautiful and there is nothing you can't do.

In the literal sense, the mentioned lines claim that the listener is a scintillating performer and a vivid crowd-pleaser. The listener indulges in typical stage performances like singing or acting. However, Miss Peppermint comprehends the quoted verse divergently.

"All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players." is an eminent line from one of Shakespeare's frequently quoted passages. Miss Peppermint interprets that the world, or the universe, is just a platform and all the human beings are solely actors, struggling to gain success in a play, called Life.

Just like it is important for an actor to gain popularity and success via acting, it is vital for any other individual to be successful in all of his/her endeavours. It's not just the conventional stage artists who try to master their stage presence, it is attempted by every mortal. An actor's stage is literally a raised platform, a doctor's stage is the operation theater, a blogger's stage is the internet, so on and so forth. Every individual who steps on the biggest stage, called The Universe attempts to ensure that by the end of their lifetime, they could gain the regard of their audience and their fellow "actors".

So be Brave, be Honest, be Beautiful. Be the best version of you. Your aim is to achieve whatever you aspire for and to get the crowd to go crazy by the time you're done.

Bullets

You look pretty good down here
But you ain't really good.

We never learn, we've been here before
Why are we always stuck and running from
The bullets, the bullets?
-Sign of the Times, By Harry Styles

Right off the bat, please do listen to this song if you haven't done so already (After reading this post).

Man is a social animal and to maintain any amicable relationship, a person can not reveal every emotion s/he undergoes. Left with no alternative, those emotions either blow up in an unhealthy manner or are buried within the individual, often resulting in mental and emotional misery.

Most people who bury their emotions end up being cheerless but they do somehow manage to put up a jolly appearance. As Mr.Styles mentions, they look pretty good, but they ain't really good. Channeling emotions in a constructive way is something most people fail to master even in late adulthood, resulting in the infestation of several toxic emotions within the soul. This could result in a cumulative toll on the individual's physical and mental health.

Every person, especially in today's day and age, experiences the ordeal mentioned multiple times. However, we never learn. Our emotions are the bullets and just like we can not outrun a bullet, we can not defeat our emotions. It is fruitless to even attempt to do so.

If Sheldon Cooper Ph.D., Sc.D., from The Big Bang Theory, failed to dodge his emotions, what are the chances for us common mortals?

If It All Goes Wrong, Darling Just Hold On

Feels like you're standing on the edge
Looking at the stars
And wishing you were them.
-Just Hold On, By Louis Tomlinson & Steve Aoki

Close your eyes and picture what according to you, the writer is talking about in those 3 lines.

Miss Peppermint pictured a beautiful girl in a flowy summer dress, with her hair taken by the wind. She's standing on the end of a cliff, looking up at the stars. What is going on in this angelic young lady's head?

The celestial bodies comprising of hydrogen and helium are a part of everybody's lifetime. On the other hand, a few members of the highly complex homo-sapien species, are quite rarely spotted. Both the types of stars are almost unapproachable, and most of them are, well, hot.

The word star was probably a result of a series of transformations from an earlier designated word for those twinkling objects in the sky. From a Peppermintal point of view, famous people are called stars probably because they have acquired and mastered the ability to lighten up a place with their mere presence. And like I said, most of them are hot

Does the pre-mentioned young girl wish to be an acclaimed celebutant or does she wish to be to like a diamond in the sky

Maybe she has encountered a major adversity and she wishes upon the stars that she could go over to the other side. To her, I would say (maybe even sing), "If it all goes wrong, darling just hold on".
If everything is hunky-dory with her personal life, maybe she does want to be a luminary.

Else, we're just looming over a girl looking into the sky like, she has nothing better to do. (tee-hee)

Miss Peppermint asks: How did you picture the three lines? Let me know in the comments section below!

Make Your Best Mistakes

We don't have to be ordinary,
Make your best mistakes,
'Cause we don't have the time to be sorry..
Life of the party, By Shawn Mendes

Most people just stay content by living an ordinary life, taking no risks at all. They find bliss in their safe little universe. Well, I believe that if everyone is thinking alike, then someone isn't thinking at all!

People need to realize that doing something out of the ordinary is completely acceptable. By out of the ordinary, I don't mean going skydiving or parasailing or scuba-diving. Those are extreme sports and it's totally the individual's choice.

By out of the ordinary, I mean that you should try doing something new, which people don't embrace in their day-to-day lives. It might be scary, because you might fail or you might lose heart, but you do receive the experience. And experience is cheap at any cost. You just don't have the time in your life to cry over a failure. There's much more to life than that. Move on- be happy, be joyful, be confident and enjoy your life, bringing happiness to yourself and others.

What do people expect from a teenager? Usually it is - go to school, do well in every other aspect but simultaneously ace the tests, behave like an adult while being treated like a child, etcetera etcetera. Well, an out of the ordinary thinking is required here, both from the teenager's perspective and the society's. Now what the thought shall be, I will leave that option to you.

Being out of the ordinary can start with little things, before it turns into a lifestyle. For example, you could start out by having cornflakes for, say, dinner. Cornflakes are a stereotypical breakfast food option. You could start off the trend, because I'm sure, their taste doesn't vary at different times of the day!

I'm sure the definition of being out of the ordinary changes from person to person and this was just Miss Peppermint's take.

Miss Peppermint asks, what would your first step towards being out of the ordinary be? Tell me in the comments section down below!

The Loyal-Royal Emerald

Even if we can't find heaven,
I'll walk through hell with you.
Love, you're not alone,
'Cause I'm gonna stand by you.
-Stand by you, By Rachel Platten

The singer is probably promising that she would always remain loyal and support the person, through all walks of life. Even if he can’t get exactly where he wants to be, or get what he wants to get, she intends to stay by this person’s side. Through thick and thin, she promises that she would always have his back. In case the person does not achieve success, she assures him that he would not be deserted and she would help him face every hardship of life.

These emotions are all marvelous in theory. But with practical thinking, how many of us stay true to our promises of loyalty? Today, loyalty is measured through a post on Instagram. People have stopped appreciating real loyalty. Heck, people have stopped recognizing real loyalty.

According to the dictionary, loyalty is "a strong feeling of support and allegiance". Well, according to Miss Peppermint, loyalty does not stop at support. Loyalty is thinking for the betterment of the other person, over your own selfish motives.

Everyone likes being appreciated for the efforts and sacrifices s/he makes. If you just brush past someone who went out of their way to do something nice for you, you're probably gonna lose an emerald. You're probably gonna lose someone who would stand by you.

And now for a Peppermintal piece of advice
If you come across a real loyal person, hold on to them. They are made in very small numbers and you don't wanna lose them.

Miss Peppermint asks; Have you come across/lost a real loyal person before? Let me know in the comments section down below!

You Had Your Chance

But even if the stars and moon collide,
I never want you back into my life,
You can take your words and all your lies,
Oh oh oh, I really don't care.
-Really don't care, By Demi Lovato ft. Cher Lloyd
The singer probably once deeply loved someone, but that someone hurt her so bad that now the strings inside her have broken and she doesn't want to damage herself any further.

It's very rare that a person changes good attitude for a bad one, at the snap of fingers. It's just that when you love someone, you often tend to overlook their bad side. If that person is rude and cruel to everyone around and not you, you sometimes don't notice it. But in most cases, it's just a matter of time before you receive that rude and cruel attitude and when you do see it, I'm sure you don't like it.

When we don't like it, what do we do? We shun the relationship.

On certain grounds, I believe it's the right thing to do, speculating over whether that person could change or not. If not, then the whole thing is a lost cause and it could never fetch anyone happiness.

Well, a lot could be said about friendship and betrayal and trust and not giving up, which could contradict the above statement. However, don't you think worrying about our own happiness is far more important than the happiness of the person who hurt you?

Movies and novels have entirely romanticized the idea of second chances and forgiveness. I certainly wouldn't disapprove of second chances. Neither would I disapprove of third and fourth and fifth chances (depending on the intensity of the mistake made). But if forgiving and forgetting compromises your personal happiness and self respect, then what's the point?

And now for a Peppermintal piece of advice
Forgive but never forget. Even if you do decide to maintain your relationship with them, keep your guard up, because that person can hurt you again. If they've done it once, they can do it again, even when you least expect it.
